The first advice may seem trivial but it is very important: you need to know your car well, and in particular the real autonomy and charging capabilities. These are two fundamental aspects to plan the trip in the best way. Through the material provided by the car manufacturer or simply by doing a search on the internet, it is possible to discover these data, so that you can accurately estimate when to stop and what attention to devote to your car so as not to stress it too much.
How many stops are needed?
If the journey is long, it will be necessary to plan one or more stops to get to the destination. Obviously, to make the full of energy fast, it is important to choose Fast and Ultrafast stations. If we have the latest generation car models, it is advisable to opt for Utrafast charging points so that you can make the most of the charging capabilities of your car.
How can we plan stops? Thanks to the Plentiude+Be Charge app it is possible to study the best itinerary, also taking advantage of the possibility of booking the charging stations a little in advance, perhaps finding some near bars or restaurants where you can have a meal during the – short – wait.
Plan B
Although electric mobility has improved a lot, it is still good to have a Plan B in case something goes wrong, if for example the column is occupied or under maintenance. For this reason, it is always advisable to check well the presence of “backup” charging stations along the route and their type: a “backup” charging point is always useful in our arsenal.

Let’s remember that electric cars “suffer” from high speeds. Therefore, giving up a few km/h can mean significantly increasing the distance. In addition, it is good to know that during energy supplies at Fast columns, the charging speed generally drops a lot after the battery has exceeded 80% capacity.
